FLORIDA ADVERTISEMENTS 1900-1950

Promoting the Sunshine State has been a major job for Madison Avenue since the 1880’s with the arrival of Henry Plant and Henry Flagler’s railroads and the steamboat tours down the St. Johns River.   The later development of airplanes and cruise ships increased the image of Florida as a vacation destination.   While State of Florida advertisements dominate national media, each region of Florida developed their image from the Florida Land Boom to the present-day.
